Bought the Rossi 357 !

Post by cvcman »

Well I picked up the Rossi tonight. 300.00 plus he sold me 6 boxes of 357 hollow pts for 50.00

I notice it doesnt like to feed the reloads but the 38 and 357 factorys feed very nice !

I like the gun and cant wait to shoot it ...I may cut that tang screw off and may not.. other than that shes pretty clean.

He also has a Henry brand new in box gold with oct barrel but he wants 650.00

That seems high but it sure is pretty

How do you add a pic here

You'll find that it's so much fun to shoot that it's hard to keep her from getting hotter n' heck!

Something to bear in mind regarding shooting .38s. They're fun to shoot but the shorter round leaves some soot/crud in the chamber ahead of the .38 case that a longer .357 case will grab on to if you fire them after a lot of .38s. My Winchester 94 gets downright mean regarding extraction if I shoot .38s before .357s so I start out with a clean chamber and make sure that I shoot my .357s first or simply just shoot .38s that day. Something I had to learn the hard way so...

Have fun!

I think it's about time the government brought in a new gun law on Rossi .357 carbines!

Everyone should have one!!!!

$300 is STILL a great price; I've never seen one for less than $375 that I recall.

$300 and you're not happy??? I got my NIB 24" rifle length 357 Rossi for $458 and my NIB 20" 357 Rossi Carbine for $396 early last summer and I was tickled with the price so $300 for a gently used one is a great price.

Congrats! $300 is a great price!!! I'll give you $350 for it... :P

And why would you cut the tang screw off? Is it sticking out of the bottom or something? Might be one intended for tang sight mounting.

Yea the screw was sticking out, I took it out and threaded a 5mm nut on it and ground it to a dome, looks premo now !

I took it to the ranger today. It was shooting low. I go it on the money now at 50yrds, I like it alot. I shot 38 factory loads and 357 reloads. Nice tight groups, I am happy with it !

( sure wish I could have gotten it cheaper though )

OK, now I know how they discovered copper wire. You and another fella struggling over a found penny!

Have a ball with it but watch out, you can't stop at just one lever gun! :)
