No, I'm not that fat guy from Flint, Michigan - I'm the slightly slimmer guy from the UK who is unfortunate enough to have the same name.
After quite a bit of study and an intensive 2-day assesment I am now qualified to run civilian shooting on military ranges in the UK. In practice most of the ranges here over 100 yds are military so it's a useful qualification to have.

That's interesting. England accepts U. S. NRA certification for firearms instructors. Or am I seeing something that's not there?
This is the National Rifle Association founded in the UK in 1859. I don't think it has any formal links with your NRA. The headquarters are at Bisley Camp, which opened in 1890. Our NRA is the UK governing body for rifle shooting in the UK but many shooters consider it ineffective when it comes to defending shooters against the gun grabbers.

I see! By the way, how do you folks across the pond pronounce Bisley. Buysely, or Bizzley?
It's Bizzley. I did my qualification there.
So, does this give you the excuse, I mean reason to own more guns and have better control over their safekeeping?
In law there is no limit to the number of guns you can have providing you can demonstrate good reason for having them. In practice the determination of "good reason" is a matter for your local police and this can pose problems.
The advantage of having as many RCOs as possible is that it is easier to run practices and competitions, so we can keep shooting sports alive and hopefully get more young people into shooting.

Look again at the NRA Seal on the card and the badge Gun Smith.
That is the British National Rifle Association seal, not the US NRA seal.
Congratulations Perry!
For a moment the headline made me wonder if they were going to send you off to the funny farm for being certified gun crank.

Good on you Michael. It's tough to hang in there in the face of adversity like you English shooters must deal with. I'm proud of you, and guys like you, who definitely aren't giving in. - DixieBoy
