Win model 94 forend question

Post by flatfender »

I bought a bicentinenal model 94 that had been laid on its side and got wet in the box(and stayed wet awhile). The butt stock and forend were trashed with wood missing from the butt stock. I decided I needed a 38-55 so I thought this was the perfect candidate. I bought the barrel from Numeric. It measures 7/8 in across the flats. The forends I have found are for an octagon barrel that is 3/4 in across the flats. Does anyone know of a sorce or is this going to have to be a special made piece? :?:

Numrich carries the forends for their barrels. Winchester semi-inletted stocks and forends.

You could always try scraping (routing/inletting) your 3/4" forends out to 7/8".

Thanks Griff, I ordered from Numeric yesterday.
Pete44ru, I tried a file and dremmel on one, gee what a mess. It looked like Ned and The first reader. It now belongs to Browning Ferris.
