Just picked up the second Smith to mount the Fuzzy Farrant grips I picked up end of last year.
Couple of quick cell phone pics (daughter has my digital camera).
1906-7 Hand Ejector 38 Special, 6 1/2 bbl, 4 screw got the round butt grips
1959 Pre-Dash Model 18 got the square butts

Those old HE's are great old revolvers.
I had a Second model, Fifth change 5" that was a near perfect police revolver that
was a super shooter. Even had the Sam Brown style belt that came with it.
A police officer friend offered me an insane amount of $ for it to go with his
Duty collection. Been trying to get it back for years. No luck.
Congrats on a neat old shooter!!

Me likey even though it does have those blasphemous grips on it I really wish some of the ol' sixguns that get posted here from time to time could talk. For their genre IMNHO the Colt SAA(though I cant speak for them as I've never held one, so I'm going off of heresay) and the S&W K 38 represent the epitome of combat reolvers. They just feel right in the hand and point as if an extension of ones arm.

They sure have character. What loads do you feed'em. Where did you get them? Details, details! How do they group?
30/30 Winchester: Not accurate enough fer varmints, barely adequate for small deer; BUT In a 10" to 14" barrelled pistol; is good for moose/elk to 200 yards; ground squirrels to 300 metres
250 Savage... its what the 223 wishes it could be...!

Well, just brought the HE home yesterday.
Need to give it a good cleaning and pick up some ammo.
Both of these will get their first firing on or before this weekend.
