my son finished his eagle scout rank in august, and for Christmas we surprised him with this boy scout 75th anniversary commemorative model 94/22 that has exceptional wood:

I'll be putting it on the wall - I'd rather maintain it's current never-shot status, but it's so very beautiful. I'm going to be looking for a nice wallcase, glass and wood (though it'll be difficult to find anything with wood nice enough to match that of this firearm, to be sure!). Keeping the box as well. Will rocket in value, though I doubt I'll be selling it.mod71alaska wrote:Beautiful rifle, doc. Your son's eyes must have about bugged out when he opened that gift! I know those Boy Scout 9422s are pricey. Is it going to be a shooter for your son or a rifle to display with well earned pride and accomplishment?

elliottcable - congratulations on earning your Eagle Scout. My son is a Webelos I cub scout, having started as a Wolf a couple years ago. His hope is to go into Boy Scouts and earn his Eagle as well.elliottcable wrote:I'll be putting it on the wall - I'd rather maintain it's current never-shot status, but it's so very beautiful. Gorgeous. Absolutely gorgeous.
Well done!
Well done!
Government office attracts the power-mad, yet it's people who just want to be left alone to live life on their own terms who are considered dangerous.
History teaches that it's a small window in which people can fight back before it is too dangerous to fight back.

Congratulations sir...on a fine son & have made a most appropriate gift for his accomplishment. I am stunned, simply stunned.
The rifle is a most appropriate gift...from a fine father to a fine son. You have my admiration...a gift fitting for the accomplishment. A beautiful rifle for a son who will truly appreciate the sentiment.
As it should be...
