It was started by some California gun rights activists. I'm registered but haven't used it to pay for anything yet.

I signed up a couple months ago, and made my first purchase through them yesterday. I bought some .45 cal bullets via Auction Arms, and am awaiting shipment.Typical on line type transaction so far. We'll see.

I've used it ... works great. I used it to receive a payment.

I hate to be negative about it because I want it to work, however at least one person has had a big problem. Do a search on the CZ forum to read about it. I have signed up but have not used it yet.
PLEASE DISREGARD MY NEGATIVE; Went back and looked it up and it has been cleared up- turns out it was a typo by one participant.

I am glad of that, as I said, I want it to work and grow!

It looks like there was a problem with using Gunpal if you had the IE8 browser running under Vista. Apparently, that has been corrected according to the guy over there that reported it ... 'armoredman'.

The rates are similar to Paypal's ... perhaps slightly less. I believe they use some of the funds toward gun rights efforts though.

The founder and CEO of Gunpal was recently arrested. Innocent until proven guilty and all that, but the guy was in the middle of working out some of the gunpal bugs many people were having, so I'd hold off on gunpal until this blew over.

Wow. And he's the head of Calguns ... a pretty big forum and organization that lobbies for changes in the laws. Turns out ... he may be an idiot or worse.

Not sure if he's the head of calguns, more like a shoulder. Anyway, i will wait until it all plays out before I judge the guy, there is plenty of talk about what he actually had in his car, who may have been out to get him in the Cal anti-gun lobby. I hope he gets what he deserves if it is true.
