OT -- gun safe dehumidifiers

Post by 2571 »

What's the difference between goldenrod and gunsaver black versions of safe dehumidifiers? Black are about ½ price from Midway, but rated for the same cubic feet of space.

Don't know the difference. I do know the 36" Goldenrod I put in my safe (in my dry basement) has faithfully served my Winchesters and Colts since 1976. :D

Another 18" Goldenrod I have in another safe has been doing what it has been designed to do for the past 5 years. :D

While metallic objects with no protection (oil) in my basement (outside of safe) will rust up in short order, I can't recall ever getting any rust on any guns in my safes that can be traced back to the humidity factor in the safe. It was usually stupidity on my part. :D -----------Sixgun

Black may be Chinese? I have had a Golden Rod for about 15 years with no problems.
