What's the difference between goldenrod and gunsaver black versions of safe dehumidifiers? Black are about ½ price from Midway, but rated for the same cubic feet of space.

Re: OT -- gun safe dehumidifiers
Don't know the difference. I do know the 36" Goldenrod I put in my safe (in my dry basement) has faithfully served my Winchesters and Colts since 1976.
Another 18" Goldenrod I have in another safe has been doing what it has been designed to do for the past 5 years.
While metallic objects with no protection (oil) in my basement (outside of safe) will rust up in short order, I can't recall ever getting any rust on any guns in my safes that can be traced back to the humidity factor in the safe. It was usually stupidity on my part.

Black may be Chinese? I have had a Golden Rod for about 15 years with no problems.
