a model 49 was my first personally owned gun as a kid, and i sure used it a lot....lots of fierce gray squirrels succombed to it. wish i had it now, but gave it away, to a good cause when i was in college [nurse whose husband didnt make it home from vietnam, wantged a 22 lr for their 6 year old son, so his grandpa could teach him how to shoot.....i was thinking of selling it, but just gave it to them when i heard the story]....don't regret it, though it would have been nice to have to give to my son when he was little.
