The argument was delivered by U.S. Solicitor General Paul D. Clement in a brief filed with the U.S. Supreme Court in the ongoing arguments over the legality of a District of Columbia ban on handguns in homes, according to a report from the Los Angeles Times...

What did you expect Bush to do? He is a lame duck President that no one likes his ideas anymore so he is attacking everything he can while still in office to leave us with his legacy of power.
The Republicans are trying to stay in power and not give it to the Democrats.
Seems everything they try backfires. Hope the Supreme Court has the guts to come to the same conclusion they have for decades that the 2nd amendment does mean that common people can have fire arms and it is up to local governments to decide how restrictive they dare to be.
