can you mount a peep aperature sight on the top of a B92?

Not the side mount types but from the top of the reciever.Is there room to drill and tap up there.And what brand of peep sight would work.

Yes you can. I have an XS on mine. Works great. You will have to drill and tap, but it makes a fine setup.

I dont trust my local shop! Which model Ghost ring on the XS web site was it? Alss did you have to change the front sight blade as well?

It is the same model as used on the 94 Angle Eject. I did change the front sight, but that depends upon you caliber and load. Here is a list of Smiths recommended by XS:

Peeps can also be mounted directly atop the bolt.

This is an XS atop a Win Mod 95, but the arced top of the M92 would need a Williams WGRS, meant for the BAR.

ANY OF THE REAR [ RECEIVER ] SIGHTS MEANT FOR THE ANGLE EJECT WINCHESTERS CAN BE EASILY ADAPTED TO THE ' 92 REPLICAS. DRILL AND TAP TWO HOLES IN THE RIGHT PLACE AND AWAY YOU GO. A WELL TRAINED ORANGUTAN CAN DO THAT.
YES, YOU WILL IN ALL PROBABILITY NEED A HIGHER FRONT SIGHT. YOU WANT A BETTER FRONT SIGHT ANYWAYS, RIGHT ??!!

reason I asked is because I was told theres not enough metal thickness at the front end of the barrel to make a dovetail.So I still have that tiny block with the slot in it and a small pinned blade. Maybes the 357 theres a thicker barrel but my 44 looks rather thin.

I like that rear sight though.It looks mounted all the way to the rear.Drilled like the new Winchester AE a hole on each sde of the reciever.Shouldnt cost too much to do.Too bad Browning didnt continue making those B92s in several calibers! heres apair of 44s one marlin and one Browning
