Model 94 .32 Special question

Post by kooz »

Does anybody know if the rifling twist rates are the same for all Win model 94's in 32 special ? I read somewhere that they were changed to a different twist rate at some point. I have a 1953 model and assume that it is a 1:16 twist. Also for those of you who own one, what kind of accuracy do you get from yours and what are some of your favorite loads ? Thanks

I believe they were all a 1-16 twist. This was meant to be reloaded with lead which was very popular at the time it was introduced and for those wanting to use blackpower, not trusting the then new smokeless powders. The industry pretty much decided to stick with this set up. I THINK. good luck maybe someone else will prove me wrong. ATB

I have 2 .32 sp. 94`s. I was shooting an NEI GC cast bullet that weighs in at about 190 gr. They are quite accurate considering they are not fully stable.

A switch to the RCBS 170 gr. GC bullet was just what these rifles needed to shine. Groups of 1" at 50yd are average now.

1 :16 is the standard AFIK in the .32 Win. Special.
