Lyman Tang Sight question

Post by Sgt443 »

Merry Christmas all.

I finally put a Lyman tang sight on my Rossi 92 45c. (after winning the pistol caliber long range match at End of Trail this year I figured the rifle deserved a better sight :D )

My intent is to shoot Silhouette with it again. So I need some brainstorming ideas on marking, or repeating, elevation settings for the 4 banks of animals.

Suggestions?

Also will need a fold down leaf, or buckhorn, sight to replace the barrel sight as this is my main match rifle for CAS.

Thanks,

Lonnie

I'd take the insert out and use it as a ghost ring for main match OR if the dovetail is the same and elevation close, install a marbles rear sight on the barrel that folds down like the Marlin .44 mag rifles come with. I put one of those on one of my .45 Marlins, and either use it or the Marbles peep with no insert for main match.

As to the four banks of critters, I guess counting turns and clicks is about all I'd do. If ya memorize the steps, say 1 turn 6 clicks, then 2 turns, then 3 turns two clicks, or some such, ya'd be there.
