I commend you for going with a scope. If you're going to hunt with the gun or are obsessed with getting the most accuracy a scope is a huge help. Hey it comes off if you change your mind for some reason.
I put the same scope on my 1895CB and have had good results hunting. I may go back to the tang sight for plinking but I get much better results in low light(woods) with a scope and I feel like its more ethical for someone with eyesight like mine to use a scope.
I do miss the days when I could take a bottle cap at 50yards with my 22 but they are long gone.
I shot a doe at 240 yards with my 1895CB because I had shot very well at two hundred all summer and I never would of attemped it with Irons.
Hey I have no problem with scopes if that is what you have to do to keep shooting. With my family eyesight history I will more then likely find my self in the same boat and have to scope most of my rifles. But until then I will just have to use the irons while I can.

I scope nearly every rifle I own. I just plain shoot better.
Not all of my rifle projects are levers, but scopes are usually involved.
This is in early stages of development , with LOTS of room for improvement at this point.
My two levers that are not scoped are a centenial 66, and my BB 375. But I am seriously contemplating adding a red dot on the BB. My dad had it on the BB with a side mount, but I shoot left handed and this one is offset to the left side to line up with the eye of a right hand shooter.
