I think "cjbluff" owes us a
story about this picture....
PM her and maybe she'll post it tomorrow...

Well, I PM'd her. I thought rjohns posted this thread so I used his name. She'll probably think I'm a senile old phart for getting crossed up.
So anyway, hope she tells us about it.

Well, she 'reverted' from
mighty huntress to
teenage-kid an hour later, and headed to a slumber party...
...perhaps she'll enlighten us tomorrow.

well i've been deer hunting for 3 years now and I finally got my first one yesterday. After sitting for about 3 hours my dad starts yelling over the walkie-talkie saying he saw six or seven does darting across the field toward me. Of corse just as he's telling me this two does are running strait toward me. They either heard him or smelled me (and i think it's heard him cuz i was downwind) and darted off to my left where my friend Ed was and when they saw him one of them took off back across the field and the other headed my way again. I got her to stop by shouting at her and got in a good shot thru her front shoulder, her heart, and out her side.
Small doe, but good shot.

That's really keeping your head about you....most seasoned hunters would not think of that in the heat of the moment.

Congratulations!
I never cared much for antler stew myself. I always rather have a doe given the choice.

It may be your first deer, but it is clear from your account that you have the head for the game. -- took me years to figure out I could often stop a running deer by whisling or yelling. Congratulations!

Great job and way to keep your wits about you in the heat of the moment! I got my first at age 10 but didn't get another one until I was almost 30! I hope it doesn't take you that long to score again!
