OT - 32-20 Savage 23 or Marlin 27-S

Post by bsaride »

Anyone know anything about the Savage 23C bolt gun?

How about the Marlin 27-S trombone?

The Savage 23s used to be $100 guns around here. Now they're
going for $300 for a good one.

Super shooters though!

Remington Model 25. MUCH better gun than both the Stevens or the Marlin. :)

Hearsay only, but have heard the 23c tends to develop headspace problems frequently, and they cannot be rebarreled. I picked up up a limited edition Marlin 94 for my .32-20 needs.

The Marlin is the better of the two. The Remington 25 is the best, but will cost about $300-$400 more than the Model 27. If you get the 27 I have the correct tang Marbles "M8" sight for it.
I know a whole lot about very little and nothing about a whole lot.

That just goes to show 'ya, you get what you pay for. I'd much rather pay more for a superior product. Maybe that's why I own only ONE Marlin. :D
