Dunno. Just reporting. Looked like a good deal (for now) to me.

The old three screw action was not safe to carry with a fully loaded cylinder. Just like an old Colt you should carry it with the hammer down on an empty chamber. But too many idiots carried it fully loaded and at least one managed to shoot himself or someone with it through his own negligence. So then Ruger did a recall on all their old three screw revolvers and retrofitted them with a safety mechanism that would allow you to carry them with all six rounds in the cylinder. That's why there are extra action parts in this auction, Ruger would send the original parts back with the gun after it was retrofitted (for collector's). Then they redesigned the action and came up with the New Model Blackhawk action. And now they've come up with the New New Model Flattops which are the same size as the old three screw 357 Magnum flat tops but with an updated action and a locking device under the grip.
Anyway, the difference between your ~1976 Super Blackhawk and this three screw is that this three screw action is the Old Model Super Blackhawk that's been updated to the transfer bar safety and has the original parts so you can hear it go C-O-L-T as you cock it.
Oh, and the three screw models have a half cock notch for loading and unloading instead of the loading gate actuated loading and unloading mechanism of the New Models.
Another difference is that used 2-pin New Model SBH's never sell for more than about $350, whereas most any 3-screw Od Model SBH, in like condition, is worth a minimum of $150 more - some much more, depending on details (like long gripframe, mahogany box, white box, certain markings or lack of them, etc).
That's just too much money, even if you planned on selling the original lockwork. The D&T ruins it for any collector and me too. Now that Clements is doing Bisley conversions on Old Models, I think I'll wait on a $300 beater that has not been converted.
