Tell me about the Big Bore 94 in .375 Win

A local pawn shop has a gorgeous Big Bore 94 in .375 Winchester. I've never fired this caliber and know little about it. How does it compare with ... my Marlin in .35 Rem for example?

I don't currently own a Winchester 30-30, and should probably keep looking until I find a clean pre-64 Model 94. But this .375 is tempting.

I agree with leverbob
I have one and they are real hammers. This is a unique caliber and way under rated.

This baby will easily push a 220gr bullet to 22-2300. I've pushed a 250 to 2200.

With Hodgdons load data I easily get high 2400 sometime over 2500 BELOW max loads, with a 200gr bullet.

Get it! I've got one, and it is a nice rifle to shoot with surpricingly mild recoil and superb prestanda. It's an fine woods rifle.

BUY IT! They are wonderful rifles. I bought mine several years ago at a bargain price of $360. They will only gain value.

It will act very similarly to your .35 Remington. But, that's no reason not to buy it!

It's probably a hair more powerful than the .35 Rem., actually.

see if you can find paco's bonecrusher article.it will make the 35 rem look like a wimp.I have a early "winchester" BB 94 375 and have shot alot of deer with it.bang-flop with hornady 220 gr and my cast 280 gr gc bullets.if I had to only one lever it would be my 375.yes they are that good.
if you get it put on a williams FP reciever sight.

I have recently aquired a B.B. .375. It is an earlier one, 1978 manufacture. The gun is very attractive and very well done. I did have to "learn" how to shoot it though. It reacts very differently from the bench than my other levers. It was giving me fits stringing shots vertically. Once I learned/was taught how to tame it/shoot it, it has been a welcome addition to the stable. Forum members were great in pointing out the adjustments I needed to make. If you find one you like and can afford then by all means. They are not building them anymore and are not likely too. 1886.

I think the 375 winchester is the best cartridge ever chambered in the model 94 bar none.It has way more knock down power than the 30-30 and has alot of bullets to choose from.I have used from 200-300 gr fmj bullets in mine.I like the aa1680 powder best of all powders.I like the 235 gr speer bullets as first shot bullets they are very accurate.They hit very hard for the size bullet.I think that the 375 is very under rated for its size.I would use it on moose up to 150 yards with the right bullet.I have had 4 of them and still want a side eject one.I hope one day some how it is made again.It would be awesome to have some leverevolution ammo for it but I dought it will happen.I wounder how many of the 20,000 winchesters are hunted with.I hope to do alot more hunting with mine.I think its an awesome timber carbine.I am going to put some ramline stocks on mine to lighten it a bit and same my pretty walnut stocks.Its fun to shoot and makes a good gun for beginners .The recoil with it is not much at all pretty tame.Get a 375 winchester and you will want more guns in it.I missed a Ruger #3 in it for cheap I wish I had bought it.
