OT: A Single Round Of 30-30 VS. The Washing Machine
Good morning all,
While doing the laundry, Mrs PaperPatch discovered a single round of 30-30 I left in my pants pocket. It had endured a complete wash cycle in the G/E Heavy Duty Super Capacity Plus.
I'm heading out to the range to get some stuff ready for Antelope season; and I'm gonna bring that round along with the Marlin...just to see if it'll fire.
Will it????
Let the wagering begin.

I have done the same thing. My mom used to chew my A55 when I dropped .22lr shells on the floor. It would really make her mad when she vacuumed. Never had one go off though.

With a roar and a mighty boom....it fired just fine..
I did give it the shake test after it came out of the wash to see if it was dry...and it was; otherwise, into the garbage.
In other news, the Savage 99 is ready for Antelope season. It shoots bragging-worthy groups which I would gladly back up with photos. The Samsung though, has ceased all functioning.

I've only ever had one round act oddly from immersion.
That was a Fiocci 60gr SJHP in the .32 NAA Guardian I go SWIMMING with.
I dunno how many times I went swiming with that particular magazine/round loaded, but 1 of 7 (don't remember which one) squibbed.
It still exited the 1.5" barrel, but wouldn't cycle the slide.
I change ammo after swimming now, and shoot it at the range at the first opportunity.
BUT - it still went "boom", even if I had to do a quick Manual Cycle afterward.
