Price Check: Nice Pre-Safety 94 in 30WCF

Post by Blaine »

Cabelas had one sitting out yestersay....I won't say what the price was, but I'd like your opinion of what the high end of the price range would be. This one was prolly 90-95%. Prolly shot often and taken real good care of. I may actually pull out a bond or two and get this one even if it is a hair high, but I don't want to get robbed.

Blaine,

My price quote could vary a LOT, depending on exactly when said carbine was manufactured. If you've found a Winchester 1894 that sez ".30WCF" on the barrel where mine sometimes read ".30-30" in 90-95% condition... I'd have to say $2K+! But, if your nominee for carbine of the month does read ".30-30" and is dated somewhere in the baby-boomer age but, pre-Kennedy assassination, then I'd say $1200-1500, if it's that "mystery metal marvel", then I'd say around $600-900 depending on just how nice it is. If it's that's rare post top eject, pre-safety version... maybe $400 as a top bid.

Way not enough info. Pre safety ..... that covers the span from 1895 to 1982.
Pre - 64?
Post - 64?

Griff,
I think you may be a bit high on your carbine estimate. I've had a 95% pre-64 carbine on GB for a few weeks that won't even pull $600. Times have changed these last several months. It's up for grabs under $500 now. I don't understand it, but it is what it is:
