wet gun powder

Had A bad day went to a sod farm that i have permission to hunt on with my buddy Joe about 11 am as geese were in shooting rang i took two shots the first one made a small pop sound the second one went off ok and then some thing small and black few out of my barrel i look at it Every thing seemed find lode it again more geese the first two went off OK the third shot went pop i looked down the barrel to see it was block got out a rod and removed a wad i went over the brawl again to find it was blown out about haft way down just a small round ring no cracks or splits i was shooting winchester XPERT 3's 3 inch 1550 fps has any one else have any problems with them the lot number is 36X2VL16 it look as if the powder was wet i did hunt in the rain with them but i don't think it was that wet that it would make the powder wet

Dude,

Anytime a round goes *pop*, STOP WHAT YOU ARE DOING AND CHECK THE BARREL!!!

It could have saved you a barrel, but more importantly, investigating a strange round can save your life and the guy next to you who might get ht with a chunk of barrel.


Sorry you had a mishap, but at least you can still see from both eyes..

My mistake was pulling the trigger on the second round too fist and not thinking the geese were 15 yards over head and i was focused on dropping one i know i should have stoped when i heard a pop but my fingers were working faster then my brain dumb move on my part thank GOD no one got hurt
