Happy Fathers Day...
I am gonna go skeet and trap shooting in the morning...
not a bad way to start the day!
Then maybe go out to lunch....
and make the wife pay!
What do you guys have planned?
Second year runnin I have my youngest (23) taking me to the indoor range.
If I can get this front sight ramp blued tonight and installed I will have a lever
to shoot as well.
I have my other daughter comming and the real treat will be that mom will be
there too. Don't tell her, but I picked up a 327 Mag SP101 yesterday for her.
I have 32 S&W, 32 H&R and 327 ammo. Bummer the 32 S&W Long didn't get
here in time as that was what I hoped she would use. Spent most of 2008
taking mom to different ranges and trying different guns. She settled on the
SP101 and 38 Special but at Christmas she said her shoulder wouldn't take the
38s.
So the lineup is the 94EA 44 Mag (if'n I do my part), S&W 21-4 CCH 44 Special,
1948 IJ SS8 target revolver, S&W M41, Winchester Pre-A M52, might throw in the
10/22 and the lefty Savage MKII and the SP101.

Try to finish my Baker rifle in the morning, watch the British Grand Prix at midday, then in the afternoon our kids are laying on a barbecue for the dads and granddads.

The rest of the day will devoted to helping my wife lose the guilt of buying a new car yesterday. It was time to replace the car she had.......it was 15 years old. I don't know if it was the size of the check I wrote or the fact that everything is now electric/electronic/digital and nothing was "manual" anymore.
I know a whole lot about very little and nothing about a whole lot.
I just got back from church with the family. The Scouts are helping to collect "coins for caring" for a local care center for the poor. Y2K and I had "duty" at the 9:30am Mass this morning. Lots of generous folks - the 5 gallon water jug is darn heavy now!
Added bonus, one of our Scouts who earned his religious metal earlier this year was awarded it formally at Mass today. Nice to be there to support him.
Later today we'll be off to the lake to enjoy a birthday party with that boy. The boys will be learning to water ski. Should be interesting!
Gotta spread fertilizer and weed killer though before I go. It was a hot one here yesterday - 98 degrees!
Blessings to all fathers everywhere. I am blessed by a father who models and has modeled Christian values to me. His selfless life has provided a secure home and opportunity for myself, brother and sister. In his later years, he has been like a dad to my sister's girl, and given away most of his retirement to provide opportunity for her. He loves his family and the Lord and has walked close to him all his days. I am honored to be his son. I am honored to be among others here on this forum whose lives speak to the high calling of being a father. Blessings to you all

I spent some time earlier this morning . . . well, late in the morning . . . with my 20-month-old daughter on my lap on the patio, blowing bubbles. She didn't really want to be there with me . . . until I said the word, "Bubbles!" She absolutely loved it after that.
My wife, my daughter, and I had my father-in-law (and mother-in-law) over yesterday, so we'll be going to my parents this afternoon.

Well, didn't get time to finish the sight on the 94AE.
Mom enjoyed the SP101 so it will be hers after I take care of a few things.
Was my day to have issues, I take it in stride.
My mom and girls had a good time and we had frozen yogurt afterwards.
I didn't get to shoot nearly as much as I wanted to, but enjoyed myself immensly.

Get her one of those lawnmower lookin' things that blows bubbles; they love those things! .....and you better get the gallon or half gallon size bubble juice. Hell hath no fury like a toddler that runs outta bubbles!
