Need help on gun value

Post by Dave »

A guy at work is trying to trade me a Marlin 1894 for a gun I have. His gun is marked "The Marlin Limited", has checkered stocks, a 16" round barrel with no ports, and is a 45 Colt. It looks new and he says he bought it new and hasn't fired it.
It is a cute little gun but it has a safety and I don't get into 45 Colt. What is that little gun worth? I am thinking $400.

I'd offer $400. With the safety (which I'd have to neutralize one way or another) I couldn't get excited about it for more money.
Sincerely,

Hobie
