I finally took the plunge and brought it home...my very own Uberti 1860 Army....
I stopped in at the local toy store and discovered to my delight that they had 3 of these Uberti's from which to choose. The fit and finish is absolutely superb. First rate in my opinion. I can't wait to see how she handles this weekend. On that note...
I could use some powder, cap, and ball recommendations. And a range report will be forthcoming, I assure you.
Felt sorta strange walking out with a pistol that doesn't require a background check and waiting period....
Thanks!

There are many different makers of the 1860 Army Colt clones (my favorite cap and ball revolver). I'd start with a 141-grain .454-inch round ball over 30 grains of FFFg blackpowder with # 11 percussion caps - unless the manual that came with it says otherwise. Raise or lower the charge from that point to see what she likes best.
Not real sure about that particular revolver, I have a Ruger old army, I can recommend FFF Black or Pyrodex P. I also like Wonderwads and the proper size round balls. Have fun! That's a great looking revolver.

Be certain you have a nipple wrench before you get started. My last Ubertis didn't come with one. This is one tool you likely can't cobble together in the field or after you've got it thoroughly fouled and need to clean it.

Thanks ya'll. It turns out that I won't be able to test 'er out this weekend. The local shops in Sacto are sparse on BP supplies. Soooo....I placed an order from Dixie Gun Works and should have everything I need in a week or so.
Decided on Dixie's .454" round balls, Pyrodex P powder, and Remington #10 caps. Also ordered a nice powder measure, flask, and nipple wrench.
Ahhhh nipple pick.....forgot that one. But I'm sure I can find some stiff wire that will work in a pinch.
Took her apart and cleaned her up this afternoon. The wedge is really....well....wedged in there. Took my plastic 'smithing mallet to back it out. Hopefully it will become easier to remove over time.
Next...a really nice cavalry holster to go with it.
