OT: New Knife-Outstanding Service From Levergun LeatherWorks

Post by 86er »

My friend Mike gave out custom Victorinox swiss army style knives to all the men in his wedding party. This is a cool knife because under the custom program, you pick the blades and handles and they put the knife together and engrave your name on it.

It is a little heavy and big to drop in my front pocket, but I've been carrying it there for about a month. I decided to take it on a trip next week and also came to terms with the fact that it needs a case.

I called Lever at Levergun Leatherworks. Our schedules conflicted so we never spoke but we were able to e-mail back and forth. I told him the story and gave him the knife dimensions.

He said "I have an old prototype I can send you - but I would never sell it, and it will be a little big for your knife". Good enough for now I figured. The next day I get another e-mail from Lever. "I had a leatherman the same size you described so I made a quick case for it. It may or may not fit your knife and it is not dry so it got a little messed up when I form fit it. Try it."

Today I received BOTH cases sent priority mail. One case is a little too big as he said but I instantly thought of another folder I have that never had a case. Perfect fit. Anyway, the case was for the Victorinox Swiss Army Custom Officer Suisse that I described. The "...I made a quick case..." that Lever sent fits perfect and looks great!

Thank you Lever for the outstanding service and accomodation! When I get back I'm going to have him work on an arrow quiver. Cant' wait!

He does do outstanding work. He made me a couple of sleeves for my Rossi Overland and Rossi .357 and they are just excellent. Nice work, nice price, and nice guy to do business with, what more can a guy want?

Joe -

Thanks for the great recommendation on the leather! :D

What a neat idea on the knife too. I'm past the age where I expect to be standing up in anyone's wedding, though I am proud to have served as the "best man" in four weddings, and a groomsman in another. I will share this idea with anyone that asks though!!! 8)
