Need help w/ Marlin lever
Maybe you Marlin fellers can help me. I bought my first Marlin 336 with the intention to rebarrel to 219 Zipper. I wanted a straight stock so the lower tang has been hacksawed and profiled on a belt sander, restocked w/ walnut from the wife's grand parents place and a Winchester cresent buttplate fitted. All I have left to do is straighten the lever. I thought about using the two large radiuses like a Winchester, but I think I can build forming jigs to make the end of the lever squared like it is supposed to be. Since I have no Marlin lever to measure, I need to know the radius of the two corners that make the end of the lever look squared. Thanks Abilene
P.S. Sure hate to use the SWAG system on this.

Be a lot easier to just buy a straight lever, since there is a good chance you will not be able to striaghten out the curved lever.

Not all levers were squared...

If that is the case it will be a simple to remove about a quarter of an inch from the top arch. Then heat and bend them straight and TIG up the cut. All I have to do is build some aluminum sandwich plates to act as heat sinks and I'm in business.

Re: Need help w/ Marlin lever
Do what you like but I have a lever from a 1895 I'd part with. It should work fine, in 2 out of three of my 30/30's it works & I know others that have used them in straight grip conversions.
If it doesn't work I'd refund your money no questions.
PM me if you are interested in it.
