This is a group I fired with my 1895 Winchester in 30-40 Krag at 80yds. with Remington 180gr. soft points.
I believe the flyer was my fault, because this is what happened with a windage adjustment.
Although this rifle isn't the prettiest girl, she doesn't disappoint.
Here are some pictures of our Winchester 1895. Both are 30.06. One is stock and the other has a Williams receiver sight. No problem to hit a headsize target at 200 meters.
We love the 1895 model.

Shawn,
I would say your '95 shoots pretty good. Much better than mine as mine will not shoot jacketed. I have to shoot cast sized to .312. BTW, that sure is a late 1895. Not many came out of the factory in the 30's.
Ravenman--Looks like a really fun place to shoot. I see you got steel and plenty of dirt to kick up.-------------Sixgun
Yes it's a real fun place. It's possible to shot reactive targets from 200 to 500 meters. The target is about the the size of the IPSC target Every hit drops the target to the side and it springs back within a blink of the eye. No steel targets!

Your pictures were the reason for a Williams sight on my Winchester 1895.
Your gun is a real beauty!
Thanks - it was given to me by my wife for 25th anniversary three years ago (OK - so I first located it). All she got was a little ring and she's convinced she got the best of the deal - women - gotta love'em.
Obviously, there's no way this compares to a Hi Grade Winchester 95 in 30-06.

Thanks, guys. It's the top of my line and is as good a shooter as it looks. Only "negative" (this is pulling your legs) is it takes longer to shoot up a box or two of ammo because there are always other shooters at the range who want to stop and admire and hold that 95 in their hands - if you can imagine that.
I hate it - as you can tell.

Ravenman wrote:OJ did your High Grade hit point of aim with the original front sight and the williams receiver sight?
Had to raise my front sight.
Nope - I had to install a taller front sight. Had a gunsmith do it but didn't like the gold bead so I found this blade on XS Sights and found it wasn't all that difficult to replace a pinned sight.
I like it better than the original.
