Taking CHANCE A movie

Post by colo native »

Tonite I watched a movie called "Taking Chance"
I would suggest that all on this forum and all across This USofA take the time to watch.
If You have ever taken part in an honor such as depicted in this movie, you to will suggest taking time to watch.

My wife and I just finished watching it. Tears were running down our faces and long suppressed memories came flooding back. I don't know where that film came from, but it surely struck home.

I had the honor of performing this duty for my two best friends. The first time was for my childhood friend named Bert. Many of my "stories" start with "Bert and I were" ... He was killed in a Motor cycle accident in Ft Pierce Fl, while a 2nd Lt. Air force Nurse. I escorted him from Florida to his home in Maryland. In my left ear is an ear ring that signifies the life that was cut so short. I was very honored to return him to his family. The second time was for my Naval Academy room mate for four years. A couple of years after Bert's death, I was witness to the crash of Bill's F-14 while training for an airshow in Virginia. I escorted him to his burial location in Pennsacola Fl. I have a second ear ring for him. I consider that duty the two most important things I have done in my life.
