OT - She loved it!

Post by Ysabel Kid »

As I posted before, I refinished a gun for my little girl for Christmas - her first firearm. It's a .22 bolt action - not a lever this time (but soon!).

Well, it was the last Christmas present opened. She saw the gun case and assumed it was for her older brother. I said, "but Sarah, it has a pink bow on it. Would Gannon have a present with a pink bow?"

I opened up the case for her, and here was her reaction:

Image

She screamed in joy! It was the reaction I hoped for! My Mother joined us that morning, and is in the back-ground staring on in disbelief! She should know better!!!

Image

Well, I think this she'll never forget this Christmas!

That little cutie sure is lucky to have a dad starting her down the right path so early in life.

Well done.

She is a little doll! I think every girl should learn to shoot at an early age preferably with a rifle of their very own, and you've done just that, good dad. Boy will treat her with a little more respect the rest of her life. GREAT pictures, thanks for sharing.

That little girl has the happiest smile and gleam in her eyes! A pink rifle is totally fitting in this case, it really looks sharp. Someone steal that rifle and he's going to get caught pretty quick!

YK, I was waiting for that post! Most awesome. The labor of love you put into it and the reaction she had was priceless. So too will be the time you two spend shooting the rifle. I wish you every blessing this coming year even though I see you are already very blessed.

That is just great! I see she already knows about muzzle control and keeping the finger off the trigger until she's on target. What a Kodak moment!

Not sure. It is a Western Auto Supply "Revelation Model 105", which is a store-brand Marlin. Might also be the same as the Glenfield 25 - I'll have to look at cross references.

Thanks guys! :D

Excellent! We may have hit on to something here .... more pink rifles = more young women getting into shooting. Thanks for those great photos that speak 1,000 words.

lady with a pink rifle

Post by brucew44guns »

One look at the smile and bright eyes of that little girl, and one could conclude that she was pretty happy to have her daddy around long before a pink rifle came into view. Good job Longhair!, you sure show me where I could have done better 30 years ago!!. Bruce
