I apologize for gettng this put so late. This is the 3rd time I have tried to send this and I keep having troubles with it. So here we go...
I took my daughters to Joe and Rich's ranch this weekend so that Lindsay can hunt a rabbit. This hunt was very generously donated by a wonderful anonymous man. Lindsay went out and could not find a rabbit anywhere...I think they were all on vacation! But...she did get an armadillo and an emu! This was the first time she had an opportunity to shoot her new Henry 22 rifle and she was in heaven! She even taught me how to shoot yesterday!
Thank you so much for this hunt. The smile on Lindsay's face once again, is priceless. I am attaching some pics and this time I hope it works! Enjoy!
You are a very fortunate woman, and I hope you realize that. You have a daughter who has already grown up to the point she understands responsibility, safety, and the life and death issues involved with hunting and consuming your own food. As elementary as this sounds, and as biologically fundamental and basic as the need to eat and survive is, it is still something most people, especially women, have still failed to grasp by their 30th birthday.
I know little of what your and her background is up to this point, but next time you have a moment of self-doubt or even self-pity, reflect on the wonderous beauty and spiritual/intellectual advantages your daughter has.
I'm not saying this just because it is a "hunting" thing, but there are few things which can so quickly educate and mature a person, and embed empathy and morality into their life, vs. the superficial and symbolic 'Disney' version of morality and life that they learn nowadays...

Sounds like ya'l had a great time out at Joe's place. I do hope that ya'll are able to go back many more times. The leasons that you are teaching your daughter will benifet her though out her life. Well done Mom
Really Baby, I swear that it just followed me home.
Good shootin' Kid! It was a pleasure hunting with you. Sorry I didn't get to see you shoot, Mom. Hey where is the picture of the target that shows the marksmanship?
Hey 86er! You were too busy to see me shoot. I never even saw the target let alone get a picture of it! I just took Rich's word that I was hitting it. So you and I will have to go to the range one day and you can see how well I shoot!
very kewl report. Well done on the donation of the rifle and the hunt. Lindsey, I look forward to hunting with you in the future, I know it was an honor to participate on your hunt last August. And it was a great pleasure to meet your family.
I echo the sentiments above. Nice Job MOM!!!

To prepare Emu you say thank you Mr. Emu you have lived a good and happy life. Now it is time for you to bring happiness to someone else's life. then you pop him between the blinkers.
I sure hope they had some possum on the halfshell with that armadillo.

Hey congratulation on a great hunt Lindsay!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sorry I'm so late posting up, been busy at work. I tell you what, your turning into quite the Anne Oakley from what I'm hearing. That EMU is impressive, I never shot a bird of that size. Glad you had a good time and hope ya'll come back in April during the levergun hunt. It's great when young people so such an interest in our sport, and they're pretty to boot .
