Bought a Pony.........in 22LR
I stumbled on to this Colt Officers Special, in a local Black Rifle & Tactical shop the other day. I hardly ever stop in because they have nothing that really interests me, but I got real lucky. "I've got a 22 you may be interested in..." I don't really think they knew how rare these are (1949-1953) because my out-the-door cost was only $425. The lockup is like new. It's "tick tight". I really like that big bull barrel and real target sights.
I know a whole lot about very little and nothing about a whole lot.

SWEET!!!
My Dad has one in .38 Spl. It's the most accurate revolver I've ever fired.
I've always wanted one in .22
Darned good price too!

I have a silhouette match Saturday morning, so I'm going to make a stop at the pistol range before it starts.

Don't take that thing to the range! You'll never get to shoot it, cause everyone will be wanting to look at it, or shoot it!

The Officers Model Special was only offered in 22LR and 38SP. The later Officers Model Match was offered in 22mag, but only 850 were produced....that's rare.jkbrea wrote:Nice.

I love that front ramp.
Re: Bought a Pony.........in 22LR
I didn't know that. I posted a couple days ago after seeing one in classifieds that a member was selling. I asked about the grips since mine has the old black colt grips. Someone suggested a website but I couldn't find out much without logging in. I've had it for about 20 years and only shot it once or twice. It looks in about the same shape as the one pictured, just different grips. Guess I'll do a little more research. Thanks and happy shooting.jdad wrote:The Officers Model Special was only offered in 22LR and 38SP. SWEET! I love hearing about fellow forum members walking into great deals! Now, if I could find a few more of those myself...
Re: Bought a Pony.........in 22LR
It has some nice lines to it. I'd be hard pressed to not buy, either. Interested in a trade of some sort!!!

Re: Bought a Pony.........in 22LR
Geez guys, I didn't know there were that many of you that truly like the old rimfires. I put snap caps into it and the single action is a whole lot nicer than my S&W 17, but the K22 has a shorter DA. The sights are a whole lot better than the K22 also.

Re: Bought a Pony.........in 22LR
Oh man, congrats on finding that one. I would have had to buy that in a hot second.
