OT Jack Benny Christmas Radio Broadcasts

I was finishing up a little last minute shopping yesterday, Christmas Eve. As I was driving around I was tiring of the sports talk station I was listening. The Patriots are a favorite topic. You know going 16-0 and the Super Bowl. We have it good if one is a sports fan. Pats, Soxs, and the Celtics all doing so well not to mention the college teams. Anyway I began to cruise the dial and I was taken back in time. The Jack Benny(sp?) Radio Show was playing on a local station. I listened for two hours. I had not really heard any of his material before. What a talented group. At the end he had a Christmas message for the troops fighting in Europe and the Pacific. I love old things. I just never took the time to realize how much I would enjoy old broadcasts. Sort of a history lesson. Merry Christmas to you all and please remember our brave troops just as Mr. Benny had those many years ago. 1886.

Jack Benny?

Gosh! I can remember watching him on TV years ago. ROchester!!! What fun that guy was. As well as Red Skelton. These guys had comedy that has remained classic. The stuff being produced today is pretty lame compared to these guys. Maybe we will be lucky and the writers strike will last a few years and they will bring the old stuff out of the archives for a new generation to enjoy, as well as us old guys. I wish there was more of the old tyme radio on. The old radio mystery theatre was also wonderful.
