Here is my situation: I have a BLR in 358 win with a Leuopold VX1 3 x 9 with 50mm objective. I put up small green feeder lites for nite hunting. I can see the hogs but not the crosshairs. If I use a scope mounted red light it spooks the hogs. I really can't afford a $3k night vision scope. What is my best option? Most of my shots will be less than 100 yd.
Anyone have experience with this type of hunting.

Trijicon TR-21
Nice piece of glass. I really like mine. It's going on my new BLR 358 TD when it comes in.
If you keep a search going on ebay for " Trijicon acc* ", you can find them new for under $400

Perhaps also a Bushnell scope (3200 or 4200) with the FireFly reticle option? I think that's the least expensive route to an illuminated reticle. The electronic ones are too expensive usually ... but I have a Burris Signature Electro-Dot 3-9x40 that has worked well for me.
... I love poetry, long walks on the beach, and poking dead things with a stick.

Re: OT Night Hog Hunting Scope
I can post a picture later but I have had great success on feral cats and dogs and raccoons as far as 75-80 yards in pitch black, using a red-dot sight on the lowest dot setting, and a THREE-AA Maglight mounted in scope rings under or beside the barrel, with rubber hose to give it a 1" diameter.
I've thought about adding a laser, but haven't really needed to - I use a cheap BSA red-dot on the .22 LR setup, and a Bushnell Holosight on the 7.62 since I figure recoil won't be as likely to mess with it as the BSA cheapie (although I've used BSA cheapies on a .44 Mag carbine without problems). The LED Maglights have never succumbed to recoil, and seem the brightest for their size - note the TWO-AA ones are much less bright.
Anyway, if I can pick out (and pick off) a black feral cat at 75 yards out in the woods with it, it should work for hogs...

Re: OT Night Hog Hunting Scope
A red dot sight is exactly what I would have suggested.
A night vision scope would be nice too...
Wish we could hunt them at night here in OK.
