Marlin 336 Texan barrel/sights look wrong

Post by 03gringo »

On my Marlin 336T the sights--both front and rear--are canted to the left a few degrees. Could it be that the barrel was threaded in a little bit too far? I would appreciate some advice on how to fix this problem and/or recommendations for a good gunsmith to fixt it. Thanks.

Check the head space. If it is to tight just back the bbl out enough to align the sites and recheck.

Sad to say it's pretty common for Marlin.

Kenny,

Welcome to the forum.

As cas said, tilting sights are all to common. I've had pathetic results from local gunsmiths regarding this exact subject. The only thing I can suggest is to call Marlin and see if they'll fix them for a reasonable price.
