Removing safety button on M94AE

Post by jake565 »

On www.gunblast.com, there is an article on how to remove the cross-bolt safety on M94AE's. Only a paper clip is needed. I have tried and tried to do this "simple" procedure, but, alas, cannot get the cross-bar out. Am I missing something?
On another thread, I asked for recommendations for a receiver mounted peep sight and front sight for this rifle. What I got is a Williams FP94SE sight set. It added about 12 inches to the sight radiuus and was very easy to install using existing receiver holes.

You're just missing the pin. That paper clip can slide off the nose of the locating pin 'til you turn blue. Slow down and look carefully at where the pin lines up in the holes. You'll get it. I've done five or six and they've all felt a little different. You'll push the safety left to right.
Kind regards,
Tycer

could you post a picture showing how it's mounted? I'd like to see one set up if possible...

thanks

Yes. It is mounted using the two rear holes meant for the rear scope mount. I have one for my .30-30 94AE.
