OT - 20 gauge 3.5"

Post by 6pt-sika »

Just picked up a H&R Ultra Slug Hunter Deluxe in 20 gauge a couple hours ago , Now there is nothing unusual any longer about a rifled barrel 20 gauge slugger anymore , you would think . :!:

But this thing has been chambered or rechambered by Hasting's to a chamber length of 3.5" and they also make a 20 gauge 3.5" sabot slug .

My main reason for getting one of these is the fact that this thing shoots a 410 grain slug at 2000 FPS and the best my 12 gauge sluggers can do is a 300 grainer at 1900 FPS .

Here are a couple picsa of the new arrival

The only difference between this gun and my other H&R Ultra 20 gauge Deluxe are the markings on the barrel and of course the extra .5" length in the chamber .

Perhaps I can see this weekend how this thing shoots on paper

What's the weight on that?

A 20 bore rifle is a pretty neat thing.

I had heard about those.
Look forward to the range report.
That which does not kill me has made a grave tactical error.

8) Always liked slug guns, imagine that one would put a tremendous slap on whitetails. Enjoy! Don't forget the range report, Thanks, Tom

Hopefully I can get a scope on this "thing" and sight it in at the range sunday

Just need to find something to rob a scope from :?

This thing is another one of those items that I really didn't need , but wanted to try out . And cost wise it's not that bad 8)

I was just looking at that same gun a couple days ago online as I do hunt in a couple shotgun only areas on occasion. Nice looking gun, I may look into one myself. Please post a range report when you shoot it.
