Back from the hunt

Post by flatfender »

I carried my 64A this opening week and was impressed with the results. I got the thing 2 years ago and have been thru a learning process finding what works for it. I shot it a number of times and it was all over the paper at 100 yds. I decided to put a fibre optic up front and when I removed the sight hood the front sight fell on to the bench. After getting the front sight on and secured it shot a little better - about 6 in groups with winchester factory 150 grn ammo. I still thought it should do better and finally tried the 170 grn load and bingo - 3 to 4 in groups. So here are a couple of pictures of the results of the hunt.

I think it is a keeper.
The buck was 120 steps and the hog about 80.

I was hunting about 5 miles east of Kenard Tx. The property ajoins the Davy Crockett N F on the south side.

Good hunt! I bet with hand loads you can cut those groups nearly in half. :D
