POLITICS - Swing State Voters
I was wondering, for you folks in swing states like Michigan, Ohio, Virginia, West Virgina, etc..., is the NRA running high powered ads to try and drum up the sportsmans vote against Obama.?
I haven't heard anything from the NRA and was just curious.

Yep, the NRA and just about everyone else. I suppose it depends on the market with our area less in doubt and seeing fewer Republican ads. HOWEVER, my wife's BIL was up here a couple weeks back and mentioned (after an auto tour of some the east coast) that this area had more Obama yard signs than anywhere else they'd been. They'd been through Ohio, Pennsylvania, New York, Maryland, West Virginia, Tennessee, a bit of Georgia and Alabama (they're from LA that's Lower Alabama).

O' bummer yards signs out number McCain 8 to 1 in my neighborhood and I live in a 80% Republican district. I does not bode well for McCain in Central Ohio. Cleveland, Cinncinati, Dayton and Youngstown are heavily democratic areas.

Re: POLITICS - Swing State Voters
Obama is emphasizing that HE is the only one who is for "change" - but of course his "change" is more of the SAME intrusive government micromanaging and socialism. McCain can't seem to compete in the media and dollar arenas, and the young voters don't even see, much less understand, anything that's not on television.
If I were an artist, I'd draw a sign with a student at the blackboard, erasing the legs of a big "R" to make it into a "D" - and the teacher standing by, saying "No - that's not a REAL change..."
...but I'm no artist, and with all the young, the stupid, the gulity-whites, the rich who don't work very hard for their money, the people who don't work at all, the government lackeys, and virtually every minority all voting for "one of theirs," I see Obama winning by a landslide even in Indiana.

Concerning your R and D lesson, do a little more erasing and flip that D around, it then becomes a C. C for our Constitution. The complete opposite of what BOTH the R and D are shoving these days.AJMD429 wrote:Obama is emphasizing that HE is the only one who is for "change" - but of course his "change" is more of the SAME intrusive government micromanaging and socialism. Here in MI I have seen very little since it was reported that McCain was not going to attempt to compete here. How sad.............

No. No NRA participation up in NIN as far as I can tell.
Gary's mayor is still in BO/Acorn's pocket and trying to skew things toward "preventing the disenfranchisement" of Gary's (D) voters... voters like Jimmy John (who lives at franchise sandwich shop)... while he and the Outfit cronies that help him keep filing anti-gun bills in Indy...

Re: POLITICS - Swing State Voters
SC is secure, so not a lot of ads one way or the other. I guessed we're blessed that way.
The NC stations out of Charlotte though are playing a bunch for both sides. NC is waffling - some saying it is in contention, but it looks like it is firming up for McCain (as it should be).
I was in Georgia the last two days and even in metro Atlanta the McCain/Palin bumper stickers and yard signs outnumbered snObama ones by a large margin. Felt really good - but then again, Georgia has not been in play.
I am worried about VA - we need the state to stay "red". If so, OH and PA decide the election...

Re: POLITICS - Swing State Voters
The whole concept of "swing states" is such a crock of bull anyway.
The DemSocs own the Urban Centers... and thereby automatically own 230 of 270 Electoral Votes. They simply have fewerpeople to bamboozle than do the Republocrats, and the last 8 years of Big Gooberment Republocratisim has only HELPED the DemSocs.
Never mind that Republicans/Conservatives/Constitutionalists BEGIN with a disadvantage - made worse by the fact that the MSM is based in those same Urban Centers.
This election is not about "issues". It is about whether or not the Urban Vermin scuurying about in their Trust Funder High Rises & Socialist Projects are going to control the lives of the folks who, quite simply, GROW THE FOOD.
Unless and until people understand that, we are doomed...if not now, eventually... because the Vermin will always have the numbers.

I've been seeing Osama ads on the boob tube for at least a month. So far I've seen only seen one McCain ad and that was just a couple nights ago.

Re: POLITICS - Swing State Voters
Our papers tell us that we are a "swing" state here in Wisconsin and that Osama has 17% lead. 'Course they only survey the Urban centers of Milwaukee and Madison (more socialist than either USSR OR China). Have not seen one commercial or ad from the NRA regarding the political race.
I just hope people have the common sense to vote based on the history of the candidates voting records (whether local, state, or national) and not on the presumption of what they say they will do "if" elected. Osama wants to "change" the very fundumental foundations from which this nation was built saying they are archaic and out of touch with our "modern" world. Hence he does believe that our "rights" under the Constitution are actually "priviledges" that are bestowed upon us by the "government". He has proven this by his history of voting to usurp the rights we have based on the Second Ammendment.
Through out the history of democracies, from Athens, to Rome, to Attila the Hun, we have seen fascist/totalitarian governments spring up under the guise of populist "we" with the "symbol" of unity. Hitler did it under the swatsitka, Mussolinni under that goofy looking thing, and now Obama with his "new" symbol for America.
