Henry H001 groups.
Ok fellas I've been bitten by the .22JR bug once again and can't wait to hit the woods with my Henry Hoo1. For those of you with this model rifle what kind of groups do you get at 50yd.? I typically get about an inch for 5 shots with CCI Mini mags and Velocitiors. I haven't tried any subsonic or target ammo in yet. I'm wondering if that ammo will cut my groups down any.

I believe yours shoots better than mine. I tried a variety of ammo (high and standard velocity) and the best I can do is just under 1.5 inches, 5 shots at 50 yards. However, I have not tried subsonic, hyper velocity or target rounds. I did try using an Accurizer - no success.
That is with a Williams receiver sight. Frankly, I'm not sure I can hold much better than that considering the rather wide front sight post.

If you're shooting for groups, you'd be better off using a scope rather than open sights. And use a one-piece rifle rest that gives you a better chance of repeating good shots.
Once you've established that the rifle shoots well, you can go back to the open sights and blaming the rifle.
I'm getting a H001T for Christmas, but it's at the gunsmith right now having a hole drilled/tapped in the tang for a marbles tang sight.

336A,
About all I can say about mine is that it always shoots exactly where I point it. I have said it before: I am the number one worst factor in the acurracy of my Henry.
I love the rifle. I need work.

I'm taking mine to the range this weekend (wife gave it to me early - grin), and I'm going to mount a cheap scope to it to see how it groups (the scope came on my Crosman air-gun so I assume the Henry won't rattle it to death).
I'll be using Wolf M/T ammo, so I'll at least be able to rule out the ammo as a cause for bad groups.
