Needle in a haystack, My "new" Win M-'94

This is what I found while sifting through all the "flea market" junque at Hillsville Friday AM. :o Thought it'd be cool to see pics of a pretty nice one "I" found. I'll still be envious of all those other nice ones you guys seem to be able to find on a regular basis. :mrgreen:

Serial # puts it 1952, same as me. Just wish I was in half as good a shape. :lol:

As I remember it you're pretty good at finding sweet deals and this just reinforces my opinion! :lol: That is a nice gun. A REALLY nice gun. If it were mine I'd be looking for a steel Lyman or Redfield or have bundled it off for D&T and put a Williams FP on it.

I wish I could find anything remotely close to that at flea markets down here.

That thing looks excellent for 50+ years. Congratulations.
...and I don't think he even knows it...Walks around with a half-assed grin...If he feels fear, he don't show it. Just rides into hell and back again.

No "gold plated flea markets", just an occasional junque dealer who doesn't do his homework on the few guns he throws in the mix.

If you've ever been to the Hillsville VFW show you know the junque dealers WAY outnumber the gun folks. This particular guy specialized in old glass, old toys, and old kitchen appliances. He only had two guns in his entire booth.

The folks with mostly guns and gun related stuff usually know, (or think) their stuff, and as we all know, many of them think we're stoopid. I've never found a "deal" at a guy person's table.

Hillsville is actually a good "huntin' ground", but like panning for gold, you've gotta wash a lot of dirt to turn any color.

Or...

Now and then even a blind hog finds an acorn. :D
