POLITICS Houses and guns

Post by papasan »

How many of you have seen the Dems
political stab on Tv for John McCain
owning seven houses?? I really
don`t care. How many of these millionaire politicians own perhaps
several houses,and property too?

Besides didn`t he live in another
"house" the Hanoi Hilton for a number
of years too? This is America so he can own as many houses as he wants.
Of course he can only live in one that is true.

But what worrys me is the day they
say to me..Why papasan, you own nine
guns??? We think you don`t need to own any!!

Since I'm not for either side here maybe I can help.

The McCain bunch portrays Obama as a pop star in some of their ads. They say that popstars/superstars don't know how hard it is to raise a family in todays tough economic times. Well neither does somebody who can't keep up with the number of houses he owns. McCain served his country. Good for him I respect that as we all should. He was a POW. That's rough. But that's also old news. I know a lot of vets, some of who had been POWs and while I respect that that doesn't make them worthy of being president. It may help, mind you, but it doesn't take the cake. Just put a president in office that will back the dang CotUS and tell all the countries out there to back off we have our own fire to tend for a while and get to making the US strong again. In economy, energy and pride. Who do we need? Someone like in that William Shatner post/clip/thingy that was linked to earlier on this site. Not anyone who whores themselves out for votes. That takes out the majority of politicians right there.

The biggest crock of you know what is the piece of propaganda that the Democratic Party is in favor of the poor person. Barack Hussein Obama isn't exactly poor himself. How many homes does he own?

Didn't Obama just buy a million dollar mansion with the help of a convicted felon? Interesting when the pot calls the kettle black .

None of them are for the poor or pretty much anyone else but themselves and those who help get them into office. Most politicians aren't for sale, but it would seem that they are for rent. It's almost to the point that anyone who wants to be president should be disqualified if they stand a chance of becoming president. In order to come that close to the white house far too many have sold out and are willing to do or say whatever to close the deal.

From a psychological standpoint, I think that anyone who wants the office as badly as everyone who ran this year - from any party - is pretty much disqualified right there on the spot. You have to either be nuts or a narcissist - or both. That's why I liked Fred Thompson - he didn't seem to "need" to be President to make himself feel whole. Everyone else - Paul included - did.

I'd love to see us literally draft an extremely intelligent and well-balanced leader from the private sector - someone who didn't want the job. My bet is the results would improve 1000%. Prior experience in the public sector would be an automatic disqualification.

Pipe dreams...

BTW, didn't mean to hijack your post papasan! This is how socialism works, and anyone who doesn't think the Dem's are socialist has their head in the sand. They've even been somewhat honest with their rhetoric this year - talking about increasing taxes on the "rich" to give it to the "needy".

At some point, given the stark reality of finite resources, growing population (i.e. - demand), and reduced production (what happens when you disincentivize work), these command and control economies start to ration everything. It is not only how many homes one may have (if one at all), or how many guns (if at all), but how much money, how many children, how much free time, if you can worship and where, etc., etc., etc.

If you think I'm exaggerating, ask anyone who escaped communist Cuba, China, or the old Soviet Union. Heck, ask the Chinese today... :(

In the food-chain of life, the only thing lower than a politician...is a child molester.

Not that the child molesters shouldn't be drawn and quartered (by old, arthritic, SLOW horses, no less), but at least THEY "only" harm people one at a time; politicians destroy whole nations, and set the stage for breeding child molesters.
Doctors for Sensible Gun Laws
"first do no harm" - gun control LAWS lead to far more deaths than 'easy access' ever could.

I remember an e-mail I sent to my Match director.

It said something like: "Maybe, at this stage, we need a lawyer. Make no mistake, I regard lawyers in the same vein as used car salesmen and politicians: necessary, perhaps, but not some one I'd want dating my daughter."
"Mister, you ever seen what a Henry rifle can do in the hands of a man who knows how to use it?"
