OT-Im tired of incompetence!

A couple weeks ago I got an email from Guns and Ammo regarding my CC is expiring. Going to their site and having to jump through hoops to login and nowhere does it say anything about credit cards.
Fire off an email to ' customer service ' . A week later I get a reply to use a link, takes me to Gun Dog magazine. Looking further down at this email another link which actually does take me to G&A site. Login is the typical email & P/W. No I dont know what my password is as I dont use the site but every few years for renewal.
Click Forget Password and nothing says email sent, password rest link.
Grrrr.
Finally find a Customer Service tab, sent a complaint that they really make things unfriendly and a veiled threat to not renew next time around.
Not the way to start my morning!
Think I'll call their customer service today and read them the riot act !

Sounds possibly like a variation of the scam I receive almost daily -- an email saying "Thank you for your order" from eBay/Geek Squad/Walmart/whoever, or a notice from (supposedly) PayPal saying "Your transaction is complete", showing a company and an amount supposedly already paid. These emails all have a link you're supposed to press for "confirmation", but which I suspect (and the Sheriff confirms) is how they hack into your personal info.

If you get any emails like this from places you KNOW you have not dealt with, or KNOW you have not bought from -- trash it and go on about your day.

The worst part of getting old is that you become a target for every crook, scam artist and mini-brained government bureaucrat, and their assault is constant and endless...

The reason I don't belong to the NRA anymore. I'll join again someday but right now I am punishing them for a year or two because of someone's incompetence for taking my money and not sending me my card and magazines a few years ago.

I dropped any and all gun magazines as they just rarely cover any guns I like. Mostly whatever is the newest guns that advertisers pay them to write about. As a life member of the NRA I was supposed to get my magazines free, but thanks to LaPierre's theft they can't afford to send them anymore, and it's too much hassle for me to read them online.

The spam emails that come is just ridiculous! I know those are all fake.
This one is legit, as my card expires the end of July. Getting the reminder prompted me to update , however I am going to get that to them is a different story?!
I'm slowly losing interest in these gun magazines, as you say Vall not a lot of good content anymore. Only a couple magazines I get do I read cover to cover, Handloader and Fur,Fish and Game.
As for the NRA, yes I too had issues getting card replacement. Being a life member I finally told them to pound salt after they pulled the digital magazine stunt.

I dropped the NRA many years ago. Kinda sad but they weren't doing much for gunners anymore. Lots of money led to corruption.

A friend back in the 80s paid for an NRA life membership, seems like it was around $300 or so. A couple years later he got a notification that if he wanted to keep his life membership in force he had to send more money. I began to not trust them after that, and time has proven that to be an accurate instinct with the lapierre sleezefest and corruption.

I also got tired of the constant "OMG!!!! ITS THE END OF THE WORLD IF WE DONT STOP XYZ PLAN THE BAD GUYS ARE TRYING TO FORCE ON US, ITS THE END OF CIVLIZATION!!! ITS THE END OF LIFE AS WE KNOW IT!!! SEND MONEY, RIGHT NOW!!!!!!".

I appreciate the effort to keep watch on the forces of anti 2nd am politicos, but it was crying wolf far too often, and far too often something that didnt have any chance anyways, regardless of the breathless appeals for more money all the time, IMMEDIATELY!!!!!! Its become the cry of those seeking money for any political ideal, and ha worn thin over the decades, and only getting worse with time. Manufactured outrage is a thing.

The NRA seems better now that new folks are in charge. I haven't gotten but one snail mail, and no emails (I just went to the site and unsubscribed) since the new blood arrived. The one snail mail I got was just yesterday. They want me to upgrade to the next level, and if I do it via this mailing I will save a lot of money.

Well truth be told, I had a Life membership for decades before they started the upgrade deals. I did upgrade that way once. The only result was a flood of requests. I'm retired now and just don't think I would get any benefit from stepping up to the next level.

That's strange about the NRA asking for more money after a Life membership was purchased? I got my Life membership in 1982 after I'd just renewed for 3 years, and they had a deal going on. I called and asked if my 3 years could also be credited towards the total and they said yes. So I got a Life membership. Never been asked for more money, and also rarely gotten any calls, letters, or emails hitting me up for contributions either.
But I am still ticked off big time about not getting a hard paper copy of the monthly magazine!!
