.450 Bushmaster at long range
Even though it is probably $8,000 worth of rifle and scope, I was still impressed.

I'll tell you Bill, I'm impressed with the 405 Bushmaster. I have an AR in it and every powder/bullet combo I have tried has been accurate.
However I wouldn't have thought about going past 300 on elk.
I'm not sure if their bullet will work in an AR magazine.

Bill, how do you like your Bear Creek side-charging upper? I spoke to a gunsmith friend of mine, and he said they are constantly repairing them.

Jay, I sold it off not long after I shot that group. I'm just not an AR guy. I know BCA gets a lot of flack for QC all over the map, but it never gave me any trouble. I paid a lot more for an Atheris upper in .458 SOCOM and it never worked well even after trips back to the factory. I should have bought one from Tony Rumore at Tromix.
Re: .450 Bushmaster at long range
I bought a Bushmaster AR-15 in 450 Bushmaster right before Trump was elected the first time . Anyway I loaded for it and shot it a good bit even killing a few deer with it . At the same time my gunsmith buddy got an Alexander Arms in 50 Beowulf and a mutual friend got another in 458 Socom . I had all three of them in my possession for a few weeks working up loads etc . Used the 50 to kill a couple deer as well . They all did well in the parameters I personally set for them but I was never much on shooting at animals past 150 yards . I might add I had a Handi Rifle in 500 S&W at the same time and thought about the same of it . If I were to get back in the AR stuff I’d most likely have a 15 in 6.5 Grendel and a 10 with a 260 REM upper and a 338 Federal upper , I truely liked those three .

Great caliber choices, 6-pt.

.
I have been similarly impressed with the 50 Beowulf. Very accurate and of course super-powerful.
I have an Anderson Arms upper, but also a side-charging 'pistol' upper, with only 50 rounds or so through it, but so far no issues.
I also have a couple side-chargers in 5.56 and they've been fine.

I'm really interested in a 450 upper . I read they jam alot? Is it a magazine issue?

My 450 upper is a Bushmaster production, nary a glitch. Keep the bolt lubed and it just keeps going.
