Re: Chairmen of the Politically Incorrect
The only resolution I made is to get out in the woods more often...
It looks like our mild weather has come to the end it's 24 f here with snow expected.

Re: Chairmen of the Politically Incorrect
GK, that's an excellent resolution and one I really should make....and keep. I can't wait to do some woodswalking with a .30-30 over my shoulder.
Re: Chairmen of the Politically Incorrect
I hear that!
I gotta get out too. Been really cold and windy here. When it's below zero and the wind is blowing, it ain't funny after extended periods outside.
So far, this would be a good winter to cut wood, but I don't really need to cut any. Plus, we had that 100 year old maple on the front lawn cut, so I have a ton of wood to buck up and split right on my front lawn.
I really would like to get out for some woods loafin though. It's always nice to be out in the woods in winter.

Re: Chairmen of the Politically Incorrect
Got our second dose of snow this winter, only about two inches so far but it's still coming down so a good excuse to get woods walking again, the other day I saw two deer but no squirrels although my son shot five last week so there are some about..

Re: Chairmen of the Politically Incorrect
Glad you're getting out buddy. Sounds like your son is giving you a little competition in the hunting fields.
Snowing again here. It's been pretty cold the last couple weeks so it's kept my woods running to a minimum.

Our snow turned to rain and with freezing temperatures a might slippery underfoot. Feeding the birds just before light I slipped on a stone step and cracked my head, luckily where there's no sense there's no feeling

John, PLEASE have your son check on you for the next day or two because a brain bleed from that bop to your noggin could be dangerous.

Thanks Walt, my son checked my eyes for concussion and his wife checked on me during the day it bled a bit at first but seems ok now on the outside, if I notice anything unusual I'll get it checked.

Re: Chairmen of the Politically Incorrect
Holy smokes! Hope you're ok buddy! Falling on the ice sucks. There's no give in it. It was icy around the house last week too. I didn't take any headers but I Scooby-Doo'd it a few times.
I didn't do a lot this week. Got an idler changed on the sled. I bypassed the clutch Interlock on my bike. I messed around in the gunroom some. Today, I fixed the wife's vacuum cleaner and moved a dryer into the cellar.
Now I'm at work.
Yeah......it was a real exciting week.

Re: Chairmen of the Politically Incorrect
True, but it gives you a sense of satisfaction to clear up some of the stuff you've been meaning to do.
My wife fell while ice skating with our granddaughter a few days after Christmas and dislocated her shoulder....again. Her first dislocation happened in 2014 and her rotator cuff was repaired. Several more dislocatons occurred and she had another surgery in 2016. It has done well since then but now she's facing the possibility of a total shoulder replacement....we haven't gotten the results of Friday's MRI back yet. Her doc says the recovery time for a replacement is actually shorter than for a repair. He promised to call her back with the MRI results tomorrow. I wish her a rapid recovery either way.

So sorry to hear about your wife, Walt. Hopefully she is on the mend soon and not in too much pain. Tell her she is in our prayers.
My son had his hip repaired and they told him the same thing. The recovery for a replacement is actually shorter.

Lord, becareful and hope these recoveries go well.
Re: Chairmen of the Politically Incorrect
Thank you, gents!
Re: Chairmen of the Politically Incorrect
You'd think after being MIA all week I'd got a pile of stuff done......nope. I don't know what it is, but I haven't been able to get out of my own way all winter.
I did manage to do some work on my TW. I got rid of the kickstand and clutch switch just like I did on my DRZ. Man, I hate that stuff. I took my time and made a nice clean job of it. I'm VERY careful with any electrical work, and won't touch factory wiring if I can help it. These things, however, had to go.
We had the granddaughters yesterday and today. Naturally, I have no idea where that time went. Holy smokes I'm old!

Re: Chairmen of the Politically Incorrect
Our weather has kept getting me from doing anything remotely interesting, just log splitting mostly.
My son on the other hand has various jobs that he happily has to undertake, deer stalking is one and yesterday the estate owner and his friends were Pheasant hunting so Elliot was asked to be a beater and carry a gun in case of going away birds, so he gets to shoot a couple of Pheasants and a Woodcock all on company time....

Man, your son sure has a tough job, GK!
How old are your granddaughters, Jay? I know the feeling.....I was worn out by the time they all went home after Christmas.
Happily, my wife's surgery to repair her shoulder is this coming Friday. We're both looking forward to having it over with.

Re: Chairmen of the Politically Incorrect
Hey Walt. Glad your wife is getting a quick resolution to her pain. Keep us posted and we'll keep her in our prayers.
Our middle son's daughters are 3 and 6 months. The 3 year old is a hoot, and I'm sure the 6 month old will be too.
It's quite a job for a couple of almost 60 year Olds to keep up.
We are going to visit the Alaska grandkids next month. They are 7, 5, and 4.

Re: Chairmen of the Politically Incorrect
Our Texas granddaughter's 2nd birthday is in late February so Amy and I will fly down there for a couple of days to join in the festivities. We'll soon have 4 granddaughters; that'll keep us flying around the country. I hate flying but the trip isn't long enough to justify driving.
Re: Chairmen of the Politically Incorrect
Yeah, me too. Alaska is a PIA of a trip. Hate to be gone in the winter too. Kind of leaves a lot for dad around here.
But it's great to see everyone, and we miss them a lot.

Hey!……hey!…..now you boys watch your “T’s”,… as in testicles…….
I’m hanging out over at the Colt Forum as “Mr.Sixgun” where critical thinking comes to life and sparks the neurons in da brain. (Ebonics)
It really is fun here but too many jealous whiners crashing OUR thread causing trouble…had enough of the Rossi and Pietta lovers….
First, I sincerely hope Walt’s wife is OK…..I’ve been through it and it takes the life out of you…..best for you Walt…..for real….
Come on over to the Colt Forum where you have to behave (that’s hard for me) but your brain will be stimulated beyond “what kind of socks do you wear when picking up a loaf of bread?”….screw ‘em…..I sign on as “Mr.Sixgun” and if anyone else around here tries to start trouble over there I have the “in’s” to have them permanently banished to inner city Los Angeles…..where they belong……Besides, those trouble makers can’t even spell “Colt” so I’m not too worried.
Those Colt SAA’s are more addicting than H…..just snagged a Colt Bisley in 38-40 with a 4 and 3/4” in near mint condition made in 1903…..crispy everything…..shot it at 25 which resulted in a 2.2” group.

NEW SAA in 32-20 1st gen ….late one….made in ‘39….NOT mine.

Pair of 1890 Winchesters Deluxe case colored, engraved…..NOT mine.

And of course, with the 3 day wait, I snagged a pair of suppressors…one for the .22 and the other a Titanium for the Uzi down to the AR’s, made by Rugged…..,I just couldn’t help, a real “Shrapnel”…post and go…

Re: Chairmen of the Politically Incorrect
Hey Mr.Sixgun I thought you had given up collecting Colts and taken up quilting, glad to see you are still one of the faithful
nice looking Bisley and made in the same year as my Mom and Dad too.
Not a lot happening on my side of the Pond since the commie government turned us into a Banana republic but at least good old Donald is on the case

Re: Chairmen of the Politically Incorrect
Good to hear from you Six. That's a nice Bisley for sure. And in the right chambering too.
I stop in to the Colt forum once in a while. I see your posts but I rarely post there. Good guys, and tons of knowledge, but too high brow for me. I don't really have much to offer.
Glad you are doing well. Not much different here. I'm heading out to scrape the driveway....again. Then I'm loading up the sled and heading to camp for the day. I haven't been up in weeks and need to check up. I didn't need to cut any wood this winter, so I've kind if been on the bum since hunting season. It's been a cold winter here, but today is supposed to be nice so I'm going to head up.
I want to run the sled and make sure everything is good since I had the suspension all out if it. I will get some pics and post them later.

Re: Chairmen of the Politically Incorrect
Thank you gentlemen………..I thought I was done with buying guns but the Colts are extremely addictive. I don’t look for them, as always, they find me.
We are supposed to have some kind of a huge snowstorm on Sunday…….with each day the amounts come down …….just a ploy to get you to watch the news and increase their income.
It’s a buyers market right now…….
Nothing going on here either….but good ole Gamekeeper always has action happening where he lives……..can you imagine politics, New York voting in a Muslim after what happened on 9-11?…… Oh well, good thing none of us live there…..
Until later……006

Re: Chairmen of the Politically Incorrect
Beautiful day at camp. We rode in and dad shoveled the snow from in front of the door. I went in and got a fire going, then came back out and we cleaned off the shed roofs and shoveled out the doors.
Ran the sled around and looked things over. Mostly just rabbit tracks with a sprinkling of fox tracks. Normal for this time of year. There is less snow this year so far, but still too much to get around the woods without snowshoes.
The kids 4 wheeler fired right up once I cleaned the snow from in front of the shed. I let it run for a while, but didn't ride it. Too much snow for it I think. I let it run for a while in the shed.
Dad got some coffee on and I went to ride around the trails with the sled to see if we had to cut any trees. Everything looked good so I headed back. Sled seems to be running good. After I got back, dad decided to take a ride!
After some coffee I went out and checked the zero on my rifle. I had done some swapping of red dot and and riser, so figured it may be off. Only moved it a few clicks up and right and it was good. I made the right choice today, as the snow was light and fluffy and flew all over. The rifle was soaked by the time I got to camp. Sometimes soulless tools are the way to go. After that we ran some ammo through my Ruger 22/45 Lite just for fun.

Re: Chairmen of the Politically Incorrect
We've had roofers here since Monday putting on a TPO (membrane) roof. They got done at about midday today and it appears they did a good complete job. They had worked in 20° weather on Tuesday but warmer yesterday. Today was 55°, a beautiful day. Supposedly we are on the fringes of the big storm they've been talking about; 6 to 8" of snow is forecast.
Amy's shoulder surgery is tomorrow morning and I have a prostate biopsy scheduled in the afternoon. Hopefully I'll make it home before the snow begins flying.
Thanks for the pictures, Jay! It's beautiful there at your place. You obviously did a masterful job on your sled's suspension.

My favourite Winter Wonderland thanks for the photos Jay....
Walt I hope everything goes well tomorrow and you both have a relaxing weekend.
Six is the Uzi quiet enough to use in the door yard without upsetting the neighbours
The weather here has not been good, wet and foggy with some days freezing cold and mild on others..

Best of luck to both you and your wife, Walt. Sending good Juju. Fifty five! Holy smokes. Been a while since we seen that here.
Haha thanks GK! Pictures don't do today a justice u0 there. I hated to leave. I have 2 big brush piles I still need to burn. I'm hoping to get back up there soon. Supposed to have a bunch of snow coming this weekend. It's also supposed to be really cold.
