FYI- major carriers national outage

So my phone quit sending/ receiving this afternoon. I started monkeying around in settings and such and found
" Not connected to a registered network "
So I went to my cell extender , I have no coverage here for 5g. The extender works via Wi-Fi but it was also on the fritz. So I packed that up and off to Verizon store.
Walk in the door and I ask the tech what's wrong with my phone. I didn't even finish the question and he says it's a nation wide outage of AT&T, T-Mobile and Verizon.
He then told me the tech wizards had been working on it for hours. Just keep turning the phone off and on and eventually it should get back online.
I got home and called a friend who has Comcast cell and his is working even though Comcast uses the major carriers towers.
So much for technology!

I think you were given a line of BS. I have AT&T. My service never went off line. A local outage, possibly. A nationwide outage nope.

Devinitely not BS here - our internet only arrives to our house when Verizon works, and it was NOT doing very well today. Loading any page that required a text-confirmation to be sent and responded to was too slow for the two-factor-verification to even work.

So yes the tech gave me some bad info about ALL the carriers being out but indeed Verizon was out.
Now will they fess up and tell the public what happened!?

I"m with AT&T, and never lost contact yesterday or today. From Texas to Georgia. Right now I can't upload pictures, probably because of just where exactly I am, but otherwise... all good.

I read it was Verizon only, across much of the country, and due to a faulty software update.
