I don’t have a 10 mm pistol, but this would almost make me want to get one…
(… for all you guys on the forum who were planning on pitching in and getting me that new robot chick, if you haven’t already done that, you could save some money and just get me one of these …)
10mm Model 1894
Looks like it comes with Skinner sights, a threaded muzzle, and an improved trigger…
It is always good to see a levergun that might entice new shooters into the world of leverguns.
Personally, since I have a 44 magnum 1894, I’m not sure this without anything other than compatibility with a normal size semi auto pistol. (I do have a desert eagle but honestly don’t see it as much more than a novelty.). So I’d probably rather see a new production stainless 32-20 (or 45 Colt) in this configuration, but this is pretty cool…

I posted a thread about this one a month or so ago
was a trifle concerned about how it would run as some people have reported issues with the 38/357 guns
I got over it. Im sure once they start making their way into peoples hands, the public will tell me how it works . But if it does work fine , -- i'd sure rather have one of these than the Fuggly little 10mm LC carbine that Ruger makes

Very interesting...a couple of questions though.
Will it feed and fire 40SW? (No interest in 40 S&W, just wondering)
Why does the front sight look like it's installed backward??
It would be a lot more interesting at a price point of around $800.
They say it will NOT feed 40 S&W...
Maybe they are using up some of the old Mini-14 front sights...
Usually Rugers retail a lot less than 'MSRP'; unsure if Marlins or Rugerlins do...
Inflation has made gun prices appear to go way up, but in my shooting-years, the dollars are worth about a sixth of what they were, so what today is a $1,200 gun is equivalent to a $200 one when I graduated High School - prices of comparable models pretty much bear that out - the same bolt-action Ruger rifle I got for a graduation gift then cost $200 or so and now it runs around $1,200.
I'm glad some folks with 10mm handguns wanting a companion levergun will have a quality one to pick, but for me I'm not sure there is anything 10mm can do out of a levergun that 44 Mag can't do about as well. And I have no need for a 10mm handgun to 'pair' it with.

I agree with you philosophically -- but thats like saying --
What the heck can a .243 do that a .300 Win Mag cant do?
That said, i have a whole bunch of 10 mil ammo socked back that i may never get through in my pistols in the next 10 or 15 years -- i shoot my revolvers much more because when i go to the range, -- i want to relax and shoot the things i want to , and my Glock 20 and 29 just aint it -- I feel obligated to shoot them occasionally to make sure i am still on with them, --- but i quickly revert back to my revolvers
---- And --- ugggghhhhh - a guy had a S&W 610 in 4" for $950 on a local shooting forum -- that would have bridged the gap -- the important thing was the barrel length as i have primarilly seen the longer barrel versions over the years as that pistol was made for bowling pin competitions ,-- but a 4" would be cool for a guy in my situation who is not a competitve shooter
I was too poor to make it happen at the time though
When studying the ballistics, the short cartridges do not gain much from longer barrels in a closed breech system. The cartridges that can gain a lot are the ones that are longer for the caliber like the .22 Magnum ... .357 Magnum etc.
What really improves with going to a carbine/rifle over the handgun is the accuracy of the shooter. Three points of support and a longer sight radius (if iron sights are used). If it is hard recoiling cartridge like the full house .44 Magnum, there is more control-ability.

Me too. I have all sorts of 'toys' in all sorts of chamberings, but when it comes down to what I shoot the most....
22 LR in my bolt action Savage rifle and Charger 'pistol', and Single-Six or H&R 999
357 Mag or 38 Spl in my Ruger 1894, Rossi 92, or Taurus Tracker revolver.
Since I hunt with 44 Mag, I shoot enough to be sighted-in and accurate, and occasionally like to 'thump' the gongs with the Redhawk.
That's 99% of my shooting, and no semiautos other than the 22 LR Ruger Charger.
I'd use my Ruger Mk3/45 semiauto but it currently is not functioning right, and the only other semiautos I shoot are the CCW guns, enough to feel comfortable, but they aren't the "fun" ones like the revolvers.
Unless I get scooped up and dropped in bear country, no 10mm pistol (or levergun) for me...

Doc, do you need a class on how to clean the darn thing? -- JK -- you likely already know how much of a PIA those are to clean. However i just happened into a MK4 and put my Banish 22 silencer on it -- not as quiet as i had envisioned it would be, but i would say its about like a framing nail gun. I heard they are also quite a bit easier to maintain than the previous Mark's but i havent needed to take it down yet
And regarding you going into Bear country --- a man with a Big Horn .500 needs fear no bear !
