A great story of how top brass are often woefully out of touch with reality. Wonderful woman that deserves more recognition for what she achieved with her mathematical mind and a piece of chalk.

As one who was an air dropped ground pounder, I saw the same thing on the ground that she saw happening on the ocean. The Brass were always fighting the war they learned when they were studying in school. Old wars. Old tactics. Failure because it was what had worked in the past, not the present. I was not a good infantry soldier because I had an IQ above room temperature, and I couldn't keep my mouth shut about how and why the Lieutenants, Captains, and Sergeants were training for the past.
