Idaho elk

Post by Walt »

Our son Victor, who lives in the Ft Worth area and his hunting buddy Cary, who lives in Virginia got together again this year for an elk hunt in eastern Idaho. Cary took his bull first and Victor got his on the last day of the season, if I understand correctly. They hunted hard, were rewarded well for their efforts.

Thanks, John! The circle of life. He and his wife have a toddler daughter and another on the way. I hope they enjoy the outdoors as much as he does.

Our son has been competing in Precision Rifle Shooting for a bit over a year. This involves timed shooting at roughly known distances off of makeshift rests out to about 1200 yards. He shot his elk at 707 yards and I asked whether his PRS shooting had helped him make a one shot kill at that distance. He said absolutely yes. The elk didn't take a step.
