The Unicorn!

Post by TedH »

The most rare of the 375 Winchesters landed in my hands this week, the Valmet 412 Double Rifle. It took literally years to find one for sale, so when I finally found it I didn't waste any time. It has exceeded my expectations for a 45 year old gun. Quite possibly unfired. Came in original box, along with a set of 12 ga barrels, and a set of 30-06 barrels. It will get fired this weekend!
I have not been able to find any reliable info as far as production numbers, but the best I can tell it was just in the double digits to very low triple digits that were made.
If you ever want one of these doubles in 375 and see one for sale, do not pass it up! It'll be years before you see another!

Awesome Ted!

Question, are the other 2 sets of barrels fitted and ready to use? Are you going to try all 3 sets this weekend?

Yes, all the barrels are fitted to this frame. I'm not sure if I'll try all three, but definitely the 375 and 12 ga barrels. There's a Leupold 1-4x20 mounted on the 30-06 barrels with a QD mount that I'm going to move over to the 375 for accuracy testing.

Great, being prefit to the gun is a whole lot better than having to get them fit later.
Im patiently waiting for your range report!
