Latest on the Web site?

Post by Bill in Oregon »

It seems to have settled into a pattern of on-again, off-again at random. If anyone has any behind-the-scenes insight as to what the future holds, I'd love to hear it and I am sure other site veterans would as well.

It sure is acting weird this morning. I had to log in to get into the Community where I usually don’t.

Sometimes (like this morning) I wait for an eternity for the forum to respond and open. Then when I returned just now it was fast and opened right up! Very spotty, and when it's slow I just give up and try later or the next day.

These sound like host issues. Possible the new host has oversold their service, not uncommon.

I've noticed that midday (eastern)seems to be the slow time for me. From noon to about 4pm.

I was just over at the Parker collectors forum, someone posted about the Fox Collectors site acting up. I replied about our issues here and then got a server busy message. Seems we aren't the only ones!

For a few days last week no probelms. Then it stared to have the same problems as before -- very slow to load, loosing my login even when I clicked "remember me", connection timing out, etc.

Been running very well for me today. This was the first time I was able to post photos with no issues. Speed has not been bad either.

So last night I get an email from one of the Mods at the Parker Gun Collectors Association forum.
I had noted that we were having issues here and it's suspected hacking.
The gentleman said yes it's a concerted effort to overwhelm the servers.
Well this morning the PGCA is down...

Alright who jinxed us!? First thing this morning it just sat there as a blank white screen. Was a good two hours before it came to life.
Hopefully it's just a maintenance issue by the host company?
