Henry Revolvers

I have been eyeballing the Henry Big Boy revolvers on the internet lately. For those who may not know, Henry makes a classic looking double action revolver in 357 magnum with two grip frame options, plow handle and birds head. I believe they also offer the revolver as a .22 long rifle. I really like the looks of these guns. Travelling around to my local gun stores, I haven't been able to find anywhere that stocks one so I have not been able to look at one in person.

Anybody here own or have experience with the Henry revolvers? Any knowledge to share with me?

I"ve yet to see one in the flesh. Reviews I've seen so far tend to go from "It's the ugliest waste of scrap iron on the market" to "The greatest thing since sliced bread". I'd like a chance to coonfinger one a while, out of curiosity.

When those came out i thought they looked kinda like a Colt Trooper or Lawman in profile

They have an interesting appearance with the brass accents , but they priced me out of the market. I think you can procure a Colt King Cobra or Ruger GP-100 , Smith 686 etc. for the price they are trying to get for these and the appearance just doesnt do it for me at that price

Honestly I absolutely hate the looks , hopefully they are shooters. You know what I really would have hoped is that Anthony Imperato would have struck anouther agreement with Colt to produce the Authentic Blackpowder series revolvers.

I have read elswhere as well that people find them ugly. Honestly, the look of it is what appeals to me. I think it looks fantastic. But I would hate to purchase on looks alone and then find out its not a good shooter.

I was about to remark something similar, but not that specific - i think they should stay in their lane -- a Single Action alternative to the ITalians, or a 1878 homage, - even a break top, would likely be well received

When i see their "Long Ranger" which is a BLR knockoff, but not takedown, magazine fed 5.56 lever gun and the Homesteader 9mm PCC i shudder. Someone is buying them i suppose. I actually liked the Homesteader until i saw a few YouTube videos showing it to not be that reliable

Stands to reason. I have a couple Henry leverguns and they are absolutely reliable and excellent shooters

M y brother bought the birds head in the revolver, said it shoots real good & works like it should
he also has a few Henry lever guns & likes them, I have 3 Henry levers 22 mag. - 357 & 45 Colt in the trapper
like em all but the 45 is my favorite

I've seen enough credible reviews, including Boge Quinn's, that I'm convinced the Henry is a reliable and accurate revolver. It was particularly thoughtful of Henry to include front sights of various heights, to facilitate a reasonable zero with with 38/357 loads. What I do not like about the Henry is that open screw hole in the top-rear of the grip frame.

I had considered one in .22 when looking at a double action .22. They don't have adjustable rear sights so I stuck with the S&W 17.

I’ve never been a big Henry fan to begin with, but these revolvers don’t seem to do anything to change my mind.

I am very surprised that so many people find them so ugly. I would have thought a forum dedicated to gun designs from the late 19th century early 20th century, would have welcomed its classic looks. Guess I was really wrong!

A big problem with that is they are not classic looking. At the price point I think they took a big swing and a miss.

LGS got a couple. Ugly in my opinion.

Trigger not too bad.

Price is plenty high.

Can't say anything else about them.
